Worry

So recently I have come to the realization that many people I am around (myself included) are worrying about what to do with their life. Whether it be where they are going to college, what to major in, or even who they will marry...or if they will even get married. Worry is something that consumes so many people. So like the nerd that I am, I looked up the word worry... some of the definitions I found, (1:to harass by repeated biting, snapping; 2: to seize, especially by the throat, with the teeth and shake or mangle, as one animal does another,) were kind of crazy definitions of the verb worry, that most of us wouldn't usually think of. But I mean, isn't that exactly what worry does? It bites at our life, trying its hardest to steal our joy. Where there is a lack of trust, worry reigns... and it is not nice! So, with that being said.. most of you people have probably heard the lesson Jesus teaches us in Matthew about worrying (Matthew 6:25-34) I encourage you to read it again... and AGAIN! haha. Guys... the Lord of our lives is telling us NOT to worry.. that HE will take CARE of everything. It shames Him when we worry.. it is basically telling Him that we do not trust in Him COMPLETELY. We are to trust in the Lord and not in ourselves or our understanding (Proverbs 3:5). And I know that most of the people reading this have heard this all before... but please do not let this become trite or cliche in your life! As scary as deciding where to go to college, what major to choose, or even the thought that you might not get married is... GOD IS BIGGER. Hope this can encourage whoever is reading this!

Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.
