Discipline, for the Christian, begins with the body. We have only one. It is this body that is the primary material given to us for sacrifice. We cannot give our hearts to God and keep our bodies for ourselves.

He says.

He says "Go." (Matthew 28:19)
He says to love one another as He has loved us. (John 13:34)
--that includes your enemies and those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44)
He says to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1)
He says be willing. (Isaiah 6:8)
He says to honor our parents. (Matthew 15:4)
He says to wait on Him to act. (Psalm 27:14)
He says to pray. (Ephesians 6:18)
He says to trust in Him and lean not on our own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
He says to confess our sins. (1 John 1:9)
He says to rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in ALL circumstances. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
He says whatever we do, do it all for His glory. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
He says to be doers of the Word and not merely hearers. (James 1:22)
He says to have a Heavenly mindset. (Colossians 3:2)
He says to give and share with our brothers and sisters in need.(Romans 12:13)
He says to decrease. (John 3:30)
He says proclaim the Gospel. (Mark 16:15)

Taking God's word at face value. For exactly what it says, and nothing less. There is so much power in that. I challenge you, reader, to trust Lord in every single aspect listed above, as well as any others. His promises are true and His Word will not go void. Set your hearts on that, brothers and sisters, and not on material or earthly things that you can see with only your eyes. Seek what is eternal.

Thankful,

Leigh Ann

Classic Plea

Hillsong-Till I see You

Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
                                                          -John 4:21-24

Therefore God has highly exalted him [Jesus] and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
                                                          -Philippians 2:9-11

I am a girl who...

I am a girl who:

loves reading books way more than watching tv
thinks braided hair is beautiful
loves grape juice, or any fruit juice really
enjoys making headbands
laughs entirely too much
has a love for old things
prefers the mountains over the beach
goes days without eye makeup
loves school supplies
is more awkward than socially acceptable
used to like math, well until college.
left part of her heart in Texas
prefers talking over coffee rather than food
cannot wait to be a dedicated wife
as well as a mother
has a really odd sense of humor
has hitchhiked
loves the pastel version of about every color
has feet that are almost always cold
whose favorite flower is a sunflower
loves the books of Romans and James
finds joy in to listening to others
loves my dog more than some humans
is a day person
loves LOVES children
and wants to adopt from a foreign country
had a hardened heart that was pierced by the Gospel of Jesus Christ
has a smile that shows my gums
bites her nails
has a best friend who lives across the country
once was lost in pc world but now is in mac world
has been completely emptied by God
only to be refilled right back up
is striving for godliness with contentment
as well as fighting to be molded into a Proverbs 31 woman
and finally I am a girl who
knows that she is beautiful because of her identity in Christ and not accomplishments or lack of accomplishments

This is me. This is how God made me. I am created in His image. Just as you are too. And that right there, is beautiful.

"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
   your works are wonderful,
   I know that full well."
Psalm 139:13-14

Blessed Weekend

What a blessed weekend it was. One of my best friends, Emmy, from Pine Cove last summer visited me and one of my Auburn Pine Cove friends, Chris, in Auburn for the first time. It was the first time I had seen her since camp, and all I could think about the week before was the fact that I was going to get to hang out with one of my favorite people ever! We had the opportunity to spend some quality time, pouring our hearts into each others lives. It's so crazy that two people, who live completely across the country from one another, can have hearts so similar. I was elated to hear all about what the Lord is truly doing in my Emmy's life. She is one of the most selfless people that I have ever met. The Lord has trained her eyes to see to the needs of others before even thinking about her own needs, something that I admire so greatly. Her faith is so authentic, and her joy is in constant fullness. BASICALLY Emmy is one of a kind, and the Lord has blessed me greatly that I can have the privilege of calling her one of my best friends. Even though we may not live in the same town now or any time while we are on earth, I know that in Heaven one day we will get to live right next to each other forever praising our Lord!

My heart is full.

Peace for today.

“Restlessness and impatience change nothing except our peace and joy. Peace does not dwell in outward things, but in the heart prepared to wait trustfully and quietly on Him who has all things safely in His hands.”

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." -Psalm 119:105
